Environmental Preservation
Separate Collection of Garbage
The Law Concerning Waste Disposal and Public Cleansing and other related laws and regulations require that garbage be separated and discharged according to rules. In addition, Yokohama City promotes the separate collection and reduction of garbage from the viewpoint of environmental preservation and recycling.
Please separate trash for disposal at the university into separate trash bins provided in each building. Since the university is a business establishment, it is necessary to separate trash according to Yokohama City's rules for separating business trash, which are different from Yokohama City's rules for separating household trash. Therefore, please do not throw away items made of "plastic," "vinyl," "metal," "recyclable paper," etc. (even if they are dirty) in the "burnable trash" garbage cans on campus. The university has established more detailed rules for separating trash for recycling promotion, etc., based on the Yokohama City Business Trash Separation Rules, so please separate trash on campus according to the university's rules.
By separating and collecting garbage, not only will you be able to reuse it, but you will also be able to reduce the cost of garbage disposal and enhance the cost of education, research, and facilities and equipment.
Please separate garbage according to the household garbage separation rules set by the local government in your area.
campus-wide cleanup
For a comfortable environment for education and research, please keep the campus clean. Twice a year (spring and fall), faculty, staff, and students from all over the university work together to clean up the campus as part of "Education and Research Environment Beautification Day". We encourage you to actively participate in these cleanups.
Smoking
The rules regarding smoking on campus can be found on the University's website.
