Dear YNU Students and Faculty Members,

While crucial situation of the outbreak of novel coronavirus continues, YNU decided to extend the ban on international travel from the end of April to the end of September 2020 which was informed on the Second Report of this notice. Thus, YNU will cancel international dispatch program for students which includes student exchange program until the end of September 2020. Students who were scheduled to join the program are advised to contact the office of your undergraduate / graduate school for further detail. While YNU continue to accept returning or re-entering of students and faculties as listed in (2) below, please contact the office of your school or faculty when you finish the dispatch program.YNU will make decisions on international travel for October and beyond by the end of August, and will update through this website.

• - The number of countries and regions subject to entry refusal stands at 73, which is an increase of 49 from the last update.


• - Strengthened quarantines of all arrivals from any part of the world, including Japanese citizens. They are requested to self-quarantine at home, hotels, or elsewhere for two weeks and to avoid using public transportation.
• - Visa restrictions for people from all countries and regions where proper quarantine and visa restriction measures have not been taken previously. This excludes the 49 countries and territories newly included in the entry refusal list and does not apply to Japanese nationalities.

In light of the circumstances, please refrain, in principle, from traveling abroad and returning to or entering Japan, regardless of the levels of travel warning issued by MOFA.

In case an urgent travel is necessary, please strictly follow the direction (1) and (2) below.

(1)Before and During Travel

1. Submit Overseas Travel Notification (including private travel) to the office of your undergraduate/graduate school before travel. In addition, submit the Returnee’s Report after returning to Japan. You must fill in cities where you stayed including transit purpose.
   Formats
2. Register “TABI REGI” (Overseas travel register) via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
3. Buy overseas travel insurance which covers infection disease.
4. Check the latest information via websites from MEXT, MOFA, MHLW, WHO and Japanese Embassy where you stay.
5. Control your hygiene by wearing a mask, wash hands with soap frequently, carry hand sanitizer with alcohol and ventilate your room.

(2)Returning or re-entering to Japan
(For students who are staying overseas)

1. Students who are staying overseas are advised not to travel Japan for the time being as it is very difficult to go through disembarkation procedures at airports in Japan as well as find means of transportation from airports.
   All in-school procedures necessary during this period can be resumed after you travel to Japan.
2. In case you return or re-enter Japan, do not to leave your residence and stay indoors outside YNU campus for two weeks, and do not use public transportation (including taxi) regardless of any risk level released by Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During this period, you are not allowed to attend class.
   * “your residence” does not include YNU dormitories. During this period, do not enter YNU dormitories.
3. If you have fever of no less than 37.5 degrees and a respiratory symptom within two weeks after travel, you are requested to consult with the nearest "Returnee and Contact Counseling Centers" via telephone calls for their instructions. When instructed to go to a medical institution, you are also advised to, avoid contact with other persons, wear a mask, etc., and immediately present to a medical institute after giving advance notice of your visit.
4. Please contact the office of their undergraduate/graduate school via e-mail or telephone call about your absence from classes and examinations.

(Faculties who are staying overseas)

1. Faculties who are staying overseas are advised not to travel Japan for the time being as it is very difficult to go through disembarkation procedures at airports in Japan as well as find means of transportation from airports.
2. In case you return or re-enter Japan, do not to leave your residence and stay indoors outside YNU campus for two weeks, and do not use public transportation (including taxi) regardless of any risk level released by Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During this period, you are not allowed to come to work.
3.
