Yokohama National University reluctantly announces the cancellation of undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremony scheduled to be held at Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium on March 23d, due to the Tohoku District-off the Pacific Ocean Earthquake.

In consideration of several factors such as the serious damage caused in Tohoku, some wreck found at Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium, the possibility of aftershocks and the request of saving electricity from the government and TEPCO, but above all, with the safety of our students and their parents as our primary concern, we have decided to cancel the ceremonies with our deepest regret.

We sincerely ask for your understanding in this matter.
