Cancellation of Entrance Ceremony and Holding of University Guidance for Undergraduate Students

First of all, we would like to pray for those who lost their lives and express our sincere sympathy to the afflicted people and those living in the areas heavily hit by the Tohoku District -off the Pacific Ocean Earthquake of March 11th 2011.

In consideration of the serious damages caused by the disaster, Yokohama National University reluctantly announces the cancellation of entrance ceremony scheduled to be held at Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium at 10:00AM on April 7th.

Meanwhile, University Guidance for new undergraduate students will be held as follows.

Venue: Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium (Yokohama Bunka Taiikukan)
Address: 2-7, Fro-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama-shi

Date & Time: From 10:00am to 11:45am on Thursday April 7.
Please enter the venue between 9:20am and 9:50am.

Draft Agenda:
-Remarks by the President of YNU
-Opening remarks by the Executive Vice President for Education
-Remarks by the Library Director
-Talk on desirable attitudes as university students regarding drug abuse, cults, consumer education, and mental health and harassment.

Other: An acceptance letter or student identification card is required for participation. Those who cannot bring it should report to receptionists.

NB: The guidance could still be cancelled or rescheduled due to aftermath related to the earthquake. Please visit our website http://www.ynu.ac.jp/ on April 1st again for final confirmation.
