1. Overseas travel from Japan
Although vaccinations have progressed in many countries around the world, and border measures and domestic restrictions have been eased, the infection situation remains severe both in Japan and abroad. YNU requests that you avoid non-urgent, non-essential travel to countries and regions categorized as Level 2 or higher on the MOFA travel advice and warning, and on the MOFA travel advice and warning on infectious diseases except cases stated below. In addition, if you travel to countries and regions categorized as Level 1, please check local immigration and movement restrictions, the local medical system, and the conditions for your return to Japan and make your judgments.Levels of MOFA travel advice and warning on infectious diseases (updated October 19) (in Japanese)

(1) Overseas travel under programs organized by YNU, e.g., student exchange (for students)
In overseas programs for students, YNU requires that the destination must be the countries and regions categorized as Level 1 on the MOFA travel advice and warning and on the MOFA travel advice and warning on infectious diseases. To dispatch students to the countries and regions categorized as Level 2 or 3 is acceptable only when they meet all the conditions designated by YNU. (2) Overseas travel assigned by YNU, e.g., business trips (for faculties and administrative staffs)
Business trips to the countries and regions categorized as Level 2 on the MOFA travel advice and warning on infectious diseases will be continued to be prohibited in principle, except cases confirmed in advance to meet all the conditions designated by YNU. (3)Overseas travel for private purposes (for students, faculties, and administrative staffs)
When you travel overseas for private purposes, please be sure to submit a “YNU Notification of Overseas Travel” in advance. In addition to submitting the form online, make sure to print out the confirmation page and submit it to the office of your college or graduate school (for students) or the office of your department’s general affairs or accounting section (for faculties and administrative staffs).
