Q.Is the costs of vaccination free?
A. The costs of vaccination is free for all Japanese citizens and all eligible foreign residents in Japan.Q. Which vaccine is used at YOKOHAMA National University?
A.YOKOHAMA National University uses Takeda/Moderna vaccine.Q. Can I still receive the third vaccination at YNU even if I received two doses of Covid-19 vaccination with Pfizer's vaccine?
A. Yes, you can receive the third COVID-19 vaccination at YNU.Q. I received two doses of COVID-19 vaccination overseas. Can I receive the third does at YNU?
A. If you have received the Pfizer, Takeda/Moderna, AstraZeneca or Takeda (Novavax) vaccine overseas, which is being promoted in Japan, you may receive the third dose in Japan.Appointment

A. No, each person is limited to one account. Please be sure to make your own appointment.Q. Is it possible to receive vaccination other than the third dose at YNU?
A. Only the third vaccination is available.If you have not received the first and second vaccinations, please consider receiving them at a location other than YNU. As of June 2, 2022, the period during which you can receive the first and second vaccinations is until September 30, 2022.
Q. Can a person who has been previously infected with COVID-19 receive the vaccination?
A. Persons infected with COVID-19 can also receive the vaccination.Q.I will be graduating (retiring) at the end of AY 2021, am I eligible for the vaccination?
A. Yes, you are eligible for the vaccination.Q. I would like to cancel my appointment.
A. Please cancel your appointment on “My Page” via the appointment website at least two days in advance. If you have to cancel on the day or the day before, please call the call center to cancel your appointment.Q.I made an appointment for a vaccination at YNU, but I still want to get vaccinated at my local medical institution. What should I do?
A. Please cancel your appointment at YNU and make a new appointment with your local medical institution.Q. I answered "No, I do not wish to be vaccinated" in the preliminary questionnaire, but can I still receive the vaccination?
A. Yes, those who answered "No, I do not wish to" or "No answer" in the preliminary questionnaire can also receive the vaccination.Q. If I entered to YOKOHAMA National University from outside of Kanagawa Prefecture and have not moved my residence to Kanagawa Prefecture, do I need to submit an application for Jyushochi-Gai-Sesshu-Todoke (Out-of-Address Vaccination Form)?

Q. What kind of cloths should I wear on the day?
A. Please come in short-sleeved shirts or other clothing that can be rolled up easily to expose your upper arms. Please make sure to wear a mask. There is no baggage room, so please minimize your hand baggage on the day.Q. How long does a vaccination take?
A. Depending on degree of congestion, it takes about 30-45 minutes from arrival at the venue to completion of the vaccination.Q. Can I bring food or drinks to the venue?
A. You can bring in drinks for hydration. However, please refrain from bringing in food, in order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 infection.Q. Can I take photos inside the venue?
A. No, photography and video recording are prohibited to ensure the privacy of other people coming to get vaccinated.Q.Is there baggage room at the venue?
A. No, there is no baggage room, so please minimize your hand baggage on the day.Q. What kind of infection control measures are taken at the venue?
A. We take measures to prevent densification, such as checking temperatures at the venue, ventilation and ensuring sufficient space to prevent infection. We also conduct temperature checks and disinfection for staff.Q. Can I eat or drink before the vaccination?
A. There are no specific restrictions. Please eat as usual and drink plenty of fluids before receiving the vaccination. There are also no restrictions on oral medications, but please consult your doctor if you are concerned.Side Effects
Q.Is there a consultation service if I want to ask about side effects after vaccination?
A. Most side effects will subside within a few days, but if you have some symptoms that bother you after vaccination, or if the symptoms are severe, please visit a nearby medical institution. In addition, each local government has set up a consultation service regarding side effects after vaccination. Nurses with specialized knowledge are available 24 hours a day to provide consultation.Q. What should I do if I have anaphylaxis (an acute allergic reaction) after vaccination?
A. If you experience any symptoms of anaphylaxis at the venue, please contact the staff nearby as soon as possible. If the symptoms appear outside the vaccination site or after returning home, please call an ambulance (call to 119). Please stay at the venue for at least 15 minutes after the vaccination for monitoring. In case of serious side effects, medical staff will be on standby.Q. Can I exercise or drink alcohol on the day I get vaccinated? Also, can I take a bath on the day?
A. There is no problem with daily life, but please refrain from strenuous exercise and excessive drinking; bathing on the day of vaccination is not a problem.Q. After the vaccination, can I have close-contact conversation or eating at parties without a mask?
A. Being vaccinated does NOT mean you can have a conversation or eating at parties without wearing a mask. It is not yet known how much the vaccine prevents the infection of the COVID-19 from vaccinated people to others. Please continue taking all the recommended preventive measures against infection.– continue to avoid the 3 Cs (closed spaces, crowds and close contact),
– wear a mask
– wash your hands with soap
– disinfect your hands with alcohol.
